Terms of Use
FoodMate AI — Effective date: August 14, 2026
By using FoodMate you agree to these terms.
What FoodMate is
FoodMate keeps your recipes, tracks what is in your kitchen, builds a shopping list from what a recipe is missing, and suggests dishes from what you have. It is a personal organiser for cooking.
Recipes from other people's pages
When you add a recipe from a link, FoodMate reads a page you chose and keeps a copy for your own use, with a link back to the original. Recipes and the pages they appear on may be protected by copyright and by the terms of the site they are on. Keeping a copy for yourself is your responsibility, and so is anything you do beyond that — publishing or redistributing someone else's recipe is not something this app licenses you to do.
Read it before you cook it
A recipe read out of a page or a caption by a model can be incomplete or wrong: an amount can be misread, a step can be dropped. FoodMate shows you what it read before saving so you can check it. Treat the original as the authoritative version, and check anything that matters — particularly cooking times and temperatures for meat, fish and eggs.
Allergies and diet
Ingredient lists, tags and suggestions in FoodMate are for organising your own cooking. They are not dietary, medical or allergen advice, and they cannot tell you what is safe for you or for anyone you cook for. If an ingredient matters to someone's health, check the original recipe and the products themselves.
Prices and budgets
Prices are read from the receipts you photograph and shown so you can compare them. They are a record of what something cost when you bought it, not a current price, and an estimated total is an estimate.
The model you choose
Suggestions and recipe reading depend on a language model. On this device that means Apple's model, which requires a device that supports it. With your own key it means OpenAI or an endpoint you configure, on their availability and their terms, and any cost of that key is yours.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the API key you enter, for keeping the device that holds your collection secure, and for reviewing what the app read from a page or a receipt before relying on it.
Availability
FoodMate is provided as it is. Features can change between versions, and parts of the app that depend on a website, on Reminders or on a model depend on those staying available.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for loss arising from a recipe read incorrectly, from a suggestion followed, or from data a website or a model supplied incorrectly, incompletely or late.
